FLIGHT OF IDEA (Japan)

HanamiFlight Of Idea was formed in the summer of 2000 around leader Yoichiro Azuma, poet and producer of "Travelin' Word", Japan's first poetry reading omnibus CD. The band's aggressive activities include pressing ahead with live guerilla performances in Seoul in 2001 in the midst of the textbook controversy that enveloped Korea and in 2003 the of their first album, "a Day", based on the concept of the gloom among urban consumers and the light ahead. While continuing live performances at a leisurely pace, in early 2005 Flight Of Idea released their second album, "Talk Hard", which includes "Kuruizaki III" (Blooming out of Season III), a major composition consonant with the progressive rock, post-punk and avant-garde sounds that stretches to just under 30 minutes. While exerting a somewhat exogenous presence in the Tokyo underground scene, the band is stealthily drawing attention. Additional band members are Chika Matsumoto on guitar and Tomoo Nagai on drums. www.travelinword.com
