The Duo Novecento, established in 1989, have dedicated themselves with special care to the XX century repertoire and contemporary music, seeking out those compositions which give equal importance to both instruments and which blend the two in a sonorous and expressive musical dialogue. The Duo, prize winners in national and international competitions. They do many concerts both in Italy and abroad (Lille - France, Munich - Germany, Bruges - Belgium). The Duo have participated in the International Festival of Poetry in Genoa (Italy), Munich (Germany), Bruges (Belgium), Lille (France). In 2004 they have participated in the celebration events of Genoa as European Capital of Culture with a concert entitled "Towards the sea: Genoa, Europe and beyond on the waves of emotion".
Gianluca Nicolini - flute
Graduated at the "Cherubini" Conservatoire in Florence, he advanced his studies with Marzio Conti and followed master classes with Alain Marion, Conrad Klemm, Raymond Guiot and Aurèle Nicolet. He has played with the Orchestra of the Carlo Felice Theatre in Genoa, and he was principal flute with the Orchestra Filarmonica Giovanile di Genova from 1989 to 2000. With the Danzi Wind Quintet he has recorded a CD of Rossini Overtures for the "Edizioni Musicali Sinfonica", transcribed by the Quintet and printed by the same publishing house. He has made many radio and television recordings for the R.A.I. (Italian Radio and Television). He teaches Chamber music for wind instruments at the "Ghedini" Conservatoire in Cuneo.
Fabrizio Giudice - guitar
Graduated at the Paganini Conservatoire in Genoa, he advanced his studies with master classes under Guillermo Fierens, Stefano Grondona, Frédéric Zigante and Oscar Ghiglia. He do many concerts, as soloist and chamber musician, both in Italy and abroad: Milan, Rome, Spoleto (Festival of Two Worlds), Siena, Moscow (at Chamber Hall, City of music), Aschaffenburg (Germany), Mayet (France). He has devoted himself to the rediscovery and revaluation of the works of the Genoese guitarist Pasquale Taraffo (1887-1937), many of whose compositions he has reconstructed and rewritten in a book published by "Edizioni Musicali Sinfonica" and recorded in a cd, entitled Pasquale Taraffo and his time, published by "Philharmonia". He has made radio and television recordings for the R.A.I. (Italian Radio and Television) and other national Televisions. He teaches Guitar at the "Umberto Giordano" Conservatoire in Rodi Garganico.
