Kornelijus Platelis, poet, essayist, translator, was born in 1951. He was educated as construction engineer and worked for 12 years in this field practicing literature at the same time. Now he works as Editor-in-Chief of culture weekly "Literature & Art" in Vilnius, Lithuania, and he is Chairman of the Board of the international annual literary festival "Druskininkai Poetic Fall" He published 7 collections of poetry in Lithuanian and 3 in English one of essays, published selected poems in Lithuanian translation by T.S.Eliot, Seamus Heaney, Ezra Pound, "History of Polish Literature" by Czeslaw Milosz, commentary on The Old Testament.
