CHUEI YAGI (Japan)

yagiChuei Yagi was born in 1941 in Niigata. Poet. Graduated from Nihon University College of Art. While working as Chief Editor of Gendaishitecho at Shichosha. Chuei Yagi continued creating and publishing his own poetries. Later he worked as a Managing Director of Studio 200 of Seibu Department Store and Ginza Saison Theater. His poetry publications include Kinniku no Uta, Yagi Chuei Shishu, Kogarashi no Dou, and Kumo no Engawa, which was awarded the Hanatsubaki Contemporary Poetry Prize. His other published works are essays: Shijin Hyoru Note, Boku no Rakugo Aruki, Rakugo ha Live de Kikou, and a haiku anthology, Yuki Yamazu. Chuei Yagi's self-published periodical Ichiban Samui Basho showcases his creative achievements at first hand. He also enjoys creating haikus and is a member of haiku associations Yohaku-kukai and Kaibutsu-kukai.
